In times of climate change, the young Ghent music theatre company OPERAWERF presents a performance about ecological concerns, urban flight and self-chosen isolation. Two works by the classical composer Joseph Haydn form the basis: the cantata Arianne a Naxos and the short opera L’isola disabitata (The uninhabited Island).

Two women choose to escape the big city and withdraw from society in a ‘tiny house’. As ‘noble savages’ they try to be more conscious in life. But what do their male counterparts think of this? A tragicomic evening full of romance, plagued by 21st century problems and thoroughly questioning our way of life.
